Mercedes-Benz India has launched one of the most comprehensive driving programs by a manufacturer here including an off-road track at its Chakan plant. Called ‘Mercedes-Benz Performance Drive’, the series of programs will help enthusiasts fine tune their driving skills. The six different programs are listed as follows:
    1) Young Star Driver: In a bid to encourage participation in international motorsports, this program will nurture young talent for the F1 and DTM platform. This event will be conducted in accordance with FMSCI and is open for drivers aged 15-25. The top performers will get an opportunity to undergo further training in Germany and then on to the PRO training and eventually the masters SLS AMG GT3 training.
    2) Star off-road experience: Enthusiasts will be invited to Pune to experience the off-road track specially created for teaching participants the basics of off-road driving by professional trainers. Additionally, Mercedes will also be giving them a visit to the Pune plant.
    3) Track Day Experience: Want to burn rubber at the BIC in high performance AMG cars? This program lets you do just that. There will be a qualifying event spread over two days plus training by professionals on braking, cornering and slalom.
    4) International Driving Experience: Those wanting to drive in international locales now have a chance via Mercedes with this program.
    5) AMG Driving Academy: Mercedes will be training drivers under this program in AMG cars.
    6) Star Drive Experience: Customers or probables get to ride shotgun in powerful AMG cars. Every year, Mercedes conducts nine such drives here, however, this time it has been increased to 21.
