    hi everyone

Remember I was tellin you about long startups?

Okay When I filled the tank , over half the tank level ,car runs perfectly fine and starts up easy.

Now its quarter tank left and it does the same thing , long startups.

I was talking to this guy and he said it could be the fuel pump .

Any suggestions? any one else experienced ?

with the walbro 255 pump, if you have less than quarter tank of gas then the pump starts to overheat. the person who tuned my car told me that its normal if it doesn't start up right away once in a while. its because of all the aftermarket fuel system parts.

well fuel starvation can have something to do with it do you have a fuel pressure gauge installed?

gagan i am sorry but what that guy said about the pump overheating was understandable but him saying that its allright for the car not to start once in while because of aftermarket parts is baseless, if properly setup an after market fuel system can be just as responsive as an OE system, if the setup isn't right however, then it doesn't matter

EDIT: on another note, i think either your fuel pump is not priming correctly and not generating enough base pressure in the fuel line, have you noticed any variation? does it happen only in winters or summers? has it started happening after you changed your fuel lines? more details please

I got my car serviced like 2 months ago. It was okay till it started winters in australia.
Even before it was cold but car would start.
I added that fuel injector cleaner like on the weekend and monday morning car wouldn't start .. 3 long ignitions circles and 4th was the successful one.

then I topped up fuel again to say more than half a tank and car would start normal ( 1-2 second self)

fuel lines near the engine it self i changed cuz they were having cracks.

fuel filter was changed when they service the car. may be its the cheap one and its now stuffed with impurities ?what do you think

hey dude , its a simple problem, first of all get ur ur fuel presure regulator checked as a faulty 1 wil allow more fuel to go back into d fuel tank, hance droping d required fp for starting, secondly all pumps have a NRV either in d pump itself or d fuel line which if faulty allows d fuel to go back into d fuel tank hence multiple cranks to get d fuel up to d injector rail..

NRV=(non return valve) which keeps d fuel line pressurised after d engine is switched off..

Aftermarket Fuel pressure regulator has now been removed .
I had R34 Neo RB25det engine in my r33 bay with lots of mods and had aftermarket galore there so took all apart and now running stock r33 series 1 motor

Now I have all sorted but the steering is really heavy feels like no Power steering is working
I got new Odo and dash installed that goes with the engine

now Odo doesnt work, everything else does like fuel gauges , RPM etc.

    and Steering doesn't work

I was asking Skyline Australia forum ppl abt this and they said its HICAS problem

I've gott R33 series 1 stuff in my car and the HICAS is for S2 only
not sure what to do now

If you can understand the symptoms that the fuel pump is beginning to fail and You should fuel-pump function to comprehend a little primary details on fuel injectors. It managed by the use of an electromagnet inside the injector.
