Ford unveiled its new small car "Figo" in September, 2009 in New Delhi with Alan Roger Mulally, Ford's President and Chief Executive. Figo has been launched and will compete with the likes of Maruti Ritz, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz & Skoda Fabia. Ford Figo is designed and engineered to compete in India's small car segment, which accounts for more than 70 percent of the new vehicle market.
Ford Figo was like the fate-twister for Ford India when it was launched two years ago. Within these two years, many car makers have treated the market with the facelifts or updated versions of their favoured cars. The updated versions keep the customers interested in the products and therefore this American giant is also planning on bringing in the revamped version of its best-selling car – Ford Figo. Currently under construction this facelifted version will hit the showrooms around Oct 2012 was caught in lens in Chennai flaunting a yellow paintjob with freshly designed tail lamps. The aggressive pricing strategy of Figo is anticipated to be maintained by Ford India. The facelift would not be bestowed with the 1.5-liter TDCCi diesel engine which powers the Ford Fiesta sedan as this powertrain is expected to do duty in the next generation model of the Figo hatchback.
