Recently, ESPN announced the finalists for cities eligible to host the 2014 Summer X Games, with Detroit, MI – my hometown and current place of residence – making the list. And despite the naysayers that give my city a really bad rap (quite literally, actually, since I'm sure many of you have heard about how it's "So Cold" here), there's good reason for Detroit to host the annual competition.
