Land Rover has released the first teaser image of its refreshed baby SUV and all of the focus is on its clever new headlight technology. The new Evoque will be the first car from Land Rover to come with full LED adaptive headlamps as standard, meaning that it will be able to illuminate not just the road straight ahead, but also the twists and turns.

But that won't be all the new car is set to bring to the burgeoning crossover segment.

And although the company has no plans to officially divulge any further information about what to expect from the new Evoque until the end of the month, we do know that the car will be getting much more than just a new optical signature.

As a vehicle that carries a Range Rover badge, the Evoque's cabin is already a rather comfortable environment for passing the time, but the interior will also be getting an upgrade in terms of luxury and technological driver aids.

Under the hood, customers will be getting a new choice of engines and the exterior has also received some serious attention from the company's design team.

The Evoque has proven to be a phenomenal success since its launch in July 2011. Offering a perfect balance of SUV capabilities with family car practicality, it has become the discerning crossover buyer's car of choice -- 400,000 examples have been snapped up so far.

Of the refreshed model, Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer, said: "Our challenge has been to enhance Evoque without diluting its iconic design. The design refreshments give it an even greater presence on the road yet retain the emotional appeal that has made it so popular."

As well as a refreshed hard top model, Land Rover is also expected to take the wraps off a convertible version of the Evoque at the Geneva Motor Show during its press conference on March 3.
