India Yamaha Motor, the two-wheeler maker today posted 13.25 per cent rise in its domestic sales at 29,785 units during last month. The Indian subsidiary of Yamaha Motor in a statement said that it sold around 26,300 units in the corresponding month last year. Roy Kurian, National Business Head, India Yamaha Motor said, ''we are indeed pleased with the sales growth that we've witnessed in the past month on account of our strong product portfolio, upbeat customer confidence and the launch of the scooter Ray in September last year, which has invariably managed to keep the growth consistent.''
Modifing Yamaha R15 The old Yamaha R15 was a very good bike. Infact, for a 150cc motorcycle, it offered performance that could shame bigger 220cc bikes like the Karizma and the Pulsar 220.
Yamaha manufacture had been a popular and highly favored brand in India till the late nineties, after which it started losing out to competition from Hero Honda (now Hero Motocorp; the partnership being broken), Bajaj Auto and TVS.
