[IMG]The first dedicated auto component exhibition targetting the 'aftermarket' will be held this week at Pragati Maidan, which is expected to attract around 17,000 business visitors.

The show -- ACMA Automechanika -- will be jointly organised by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India and Messe Frankfurt from Germany on February 7-10.

Over 250 participants, including 100 overseas firms, will showcase their various products over 9,500 square metres of exhibition space.

"The Indian aftermarket has significantly grown in size and we hope that ACMA Automechanika India will give a further boost to this market's development.

"ACMA will also mobilise participation and business delegations to Automechanika's 12 other worldwide fairs held in Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Africa," ACMA President Surinder Kanwar said.

The four-day show will cover a wide range of sectors of parts and systems, accessories and tuning, tyres and batteries, repair and maintenance, IT and management, service station and car wash and the latest automobile services.

"This B2B event is organised specifically to garner support from the Tier I, II and III auto component manufacturers in India.

"Through Automechanika, New Delhi, we will only be targeting the actual business visitors. We expect around 17,000 business visitors," Kanwar said.

At the show, 258 exhibitors will showcase their range of products. Out of this, over 100 participant are coming from China, Germany, India, Italy, Russia and the UK.

Without specifying details, he said many component makers have already evinced interest in finalising many deals and new product launches during the course of the exhibition.

When asked about the type of association between the two organisers, Kanwar said: "Both ACMA and Messe Frankfurt India (MFI) have a MoU partnership with reference to the Automechanika brand.

"ACMA as a partner is responsible to activate its Tier I, II and III members to participate and will also assist in providing access to the aftermarket in India. MFI on its part will be activating the international exhibitors for the show in Delhi."

He further said MFI and ACMA will retain this partnership in future and ACMA will participate in all the international Automechanika shows.

Commenting on the show, Messe Frankfurt India Managing Director Raj Manek said: "By combining our expertise in the organisation of automobile exhibitions around the world and ACMA's invaluable knowledge of India's auto component industry, I strongly believe the New Delhi fair will serve as the perfect industry trading platform.
