Renault has launched an automatic variant of its Scala sedan in India. The X-tronic CVT box is mated to the 99PS 1.5-litre petrol engine of the Scala and Renault claims a fuel efficiency of 17.97kmpl, a figure which is more than that of the manual trim. The Scala auto is being offered in RXL and RXZ trims at Rs 8.99 lakh and Rs 9.89 lakh respectively, ex-Delhi.
Being more efficient than its manual sibling, Scala CVT is adorned with a list of features, making passengers more comfortable during their riding. While RxL variant comes housed with 15’’ sporty alloys, dual airbags, Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist, Antilock Brake System (ABS), electric adjustable mirrors, automatic climate control and multi-information display, the RxZ variant is supplemented more with automatic foldable mirrors, leather upholstery and chrome radiator grille. Renault Scala Automatic price announced : Rs 8.99 lac for RxL & Rs 9.89 lac for RxZ Renault has finally launched the Automatic versions of the Scala sedan (petrol engine only) and announced the prices today. The automatic version is around a lac more than the manual transmission and this steep premium is due to the modern technology it uses. Renault has used the patented X-Tronic transmission in the Scala in order to give the best to the Indian consumer – for example, the automatic Scala is more efficient that its manual sibling. This technology, according to the company, helps in reducing the notorious rubber band effect that is associated with CVT transmissions. There are no other changes to the car and it continuous to use the same 1.5-litre petrol engine that is also seen on the Nissan Sunny. Below are the prices for the Renault Scala Automatic : Renault Scala – RXL X-tronic CVT – Rs. 8,99,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) Renault Scala – RXZ X-tronic CVT – Rs. 9,89,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). In comparison, the manual RXL retails for Rs 7.95 lac (ex-Delhi). There is no RXZ version available with the manual petrol as of now.
