Maruti service station charges about 250rs for it.(maruti alto) Is it good bargain & what exactly is throttle body cleaning ?
I cleaned my car's throttle body and am pretty sure Maruti doesn't make that complicated throttle body as compared to mine, I have my TPS and MAF on them . Just remove the intake and then you will see the throttle body with lots of dirt and carbon in there .Just spray the carb cleaner and let it drain , you will see how dirty it was and then give it a wipe and there you go all done. The attached image is the throttle body ( with sign showing it) Its for Nissan skyline R33 , 2.5 Litre turbo charged petrol engine (6 cylinder) , that intake pipe is having a blow off valve. all those high tech bits and pieces.. believe me wasn't that hard
takes about 15 mins to do it at home. really easy to do. but 250rs aint much money at all so it depends if u want to do it yourself or not. lol
True that 250 isnt too much compared to what that guy asked me he asked me about 400 all up to fix my idle prob $400 = 20,000 rupees
Thanks codename, but alto doesn't look anything like Nissan well it adds up, 250 for that job, 400 for injectors, front / rear brakes etc etc before you know you are looking at a bill of 6-7000
@ Naveen , this is a nissan skyline , its well know sports car ( you might have seen fast and the furious movies) 6000 rs ? for all that ?thats a bit too much brakes are you gona replace em?
considering what they do throttle body cleaning only removes the grime and dirt that has entered your tb throught your airbox, while 250rs is reasonable you can do it yourself by getting a can(carb cleaner) and using it yourself, it will last you for at least the next four or five services
