So time has come to service my car. it has done over 6000Km's after it arrived from Japan and Serviced as per Australian Standards. After Researching me and my friend Harry decided not to put Fully Synthetic oil in my car. So I had a choice to get something 10 W 40 or 15 W 40 ( Castrol Magnatec, Valvoline, Shell) They were about 29-35 Dollars . But then this guy at the SuperCheapAutos told me you can try Semi synthetic by Penrite. Which is 10W50 and it is specially designed for Petrol Turbo/Supercharged engines. Since am changing my exhaust manifold Gaskets I decided to get everything done from him in one go. My NGK Iridium Spark plugs has arrived from UK and am gona get them installed. Now all I need is the Oil filter to get replaced. Any recomendations? thanks guys
i would recommend original oil filter or get the k&n one. im getting some specially formulated European oil from Germany for my 240. its gonna be 10W 40. getting it cause one of my friends just opened a high class mechanic shop!! lol my turbo to exhuast manifold gasket blew yesterday too. gonna do that tomorrow.
hahah ya man these cars can do anything they want. cant do much hey ehh dont get 10 W 40 , get 10 W 50 or 60
most ppl recommended 10w40 to me said it will be good. ive been using 10w30 for the past year cause i cant find 10w 40 untill now.
what !!!!! up here u can get castrol edge 10 W 60 its the one we used in Chaser it was quiet expensive yesterday abt 76 dollars .. !!
wow we dont get these in our big stores like Canadian tire and parts source. only mechanics can order them directly from where there made. most expensive one would be the one i get, Mobil one. its about $45 but i get it when its on sale so its only $35. that 10 bucks go for a oil filter!! lol
yeah thats cheap. the penrite one is Australian brand. they are since 1926 in the business. Magnatec was 29$ but i spent abt 54$ for that
what do u mean? its decent amount hey i gave my car to the mechanic he said hes gona fix my exhaust Labour 100$ I said just do a service. I gave him my ngk spark plugs engine oil he is going to charge my 80 bucks for that (oil filter including) and he said he doesnt know how much for the exhaust manifold gasket but he will let me know. so all together 180+ (gasket) i think thats pretty decent. he is srilankan guy ( has an evo)
u said why so much more i said its a decent amount for the engine oil cartoon network haha evo yes yes i bet they do
lol if hes taking it apart tell him to replace everything then. otherwise the other ones might leak later on too.
hehe...i guess two turbo's don't work on one car..one attached to the engine...and one behind the wheel...sooner or later one of them will start malfunctioning..hehehehe
ahhaha nah nah bhai aisa kuch ni hai . guess what. two studs were broken while removing the exhaust manifold.. so he is goin to fix it by tomorow if nt day after
as a thumb rule if an exhaust manifold hasn't been opened ever, the first thing to do is to apply some kind of a lubricating/anti-rust agent(for at least three to four hours) so its easier to open..and second thing i learnt is never try to open it when the engine is cold..if its wamer..the nuts are easier to open because they expand, hehe, i made these mistakes when i was opening the exhaust manifold of my eleven year old maruti 800..!
i guess u learn these things, planning on polishing the exhaust of the honda...plan to put some kerosene oil so that the nuts don't stick to the bolts..and going to drive the car for at least fifty kilometers before i touch it.., will give u some feedback on how it went..!
